Permanent Full Time Variable Equipment Operator

The Successful individual reports directly to the Assistant P.W. Director. This Individual will be responsible for repairing all County of Paintearth roads, hauling, and operating various equipment, installing culverts, fencing, graveling roads, snow plowing, and all labor duties. The County of Paintearth No. 18 has a comprehensive benefits plan and participates in the Local Authorities Pension Plan.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience operating Heavy equipment – Dozer, Excavator, Grader
  • Summer and winter road maintenance would be an asset.
  • General knowledge of servicing and maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to deal effectively with the public.
  • General knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
  • Current Certification or willing to obtain Certification in:
    1. WHIMIS
    2. Transportation of Dangerous Goods
    3. First Aid
  • Class 1 Drivers License with Q endorsement  
  • Drivers abstract will be required.

All positions with the County of Paintearth will be under the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955
