COUNTY OF PAINTEATH - RENEWABLE PROJECT CONCERNS
October 13 2023Paintearth Council recognizes the pressures on agriculture imposed by fast-paced renewable energy development policy at the federal level. Having heard from ratepayers who are being impacted by these projects, Paintearth County has prepared a briefing paper that outlines the issues, and proposes possible solutions that can strike a fair balance to new development while preserving the value of the agriculture industry. Council has issued the paper to the provincial government in the wake of the recently imposed moratorium on renewables development and requested a seat at the table when public consultation beings to advance the concerns and concurrent solutions for serious consideration by the province.
